The Reverend Doctor Layne Wallace was called to serve as the senior pastor of Rosemary Baptist Church in March of 2009.
Layne grew up in Rockingham, NC, and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Western Carolina University. After accepting God's call into ministry, he went on to earn his Master of Divinity from Campbell University, and his D.Min. from Baylor University. In May 2019, Layne graduated with his Ph.D. in Theology from B.H. Carroll Theological Institute.
In 2020, Layne's first book, Karl Barth's Concept of Nothingness: A Critical Evaluation, was published. The Center for Barth Studies at Princeton Theological Seminary placed it on its recommended reading list. A second book, Loving God in the Darkness, released in 2023.
Layne has served congregations in Rockingham, Lexington, and Raleigh, NC. He is devoted to the spiritual formation of all church members, and developing the spiritual direction of each church be serves. Layne believes that the church is the greatest strength for Christ in the community and he is committed to ensuring that the doors of the church are open to all of God's children.
In his spare time, Layne enjoys running and biking, as well as an excellent dessert. He and his wife, Molly, live in Roanoke Rapids and have two daughters, Ainsley and Abigail (Abbie).
