Debbie Blackwelder

Debbie Blackwelder has been involved with music and music ministry for over 40 years. She developed her love of music from her family and through her involvement in church music from an early age. She enjoys serving the Lord through music.

Debbie has taken music courses and attended music weeks at Glorieta Conference Center in Glorietta, NM, Ridgecrest Conference Center in Black Mountain, NC, and Caraway Conference Center in Sophia, NC. She has sung in choirs and played handbells since she was a small child, as well. She has directed Preschool Choirs, Children’s Choirs, Adult Choirs, and Handbell Choirs since 1989.

Debbie earned a BS in Elementary Education, with a concentration in English, from Atlantic Christian College (now Barton College) in Wilson, NC. She is a retired educator, having taught 36 years at First Baptist School in Corpus Christi, Texas, Halifax County Schools in Littleton, NC, and Roanoke Rapids Graded Schools in Roanoke Rapids, NC. She continues to serve the children of the area by volunteering in schools and tutoring children.
