RETURN TO THE SANCTUARY - 09/27/2020
UPDATE: APRIL 3, 2020
Today, more than ever, it is important for the Church to remain focused on its mission. At Rosemary, we believe we are called to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ far beyond the four walls of our church. So, we have started a new method of reaching the world.
As many of you already know, on Friday, March 27, Gov. Roy Cooper issued an executive order requiring “shelter in place” for all North Carolina residents. With this order comes a restriction on all gatherings of ten or more people.
As this news came in, you can imagine the heartbreak and disappointment we all felt. Unfortunately, this order means that all church services at Rosemary Baptist must be suspended through April 30. The thought of another month without worshiping together is devastating for so many of us.
However, your church leadership is committed to worship - and to Rosemary Baptist. Therefore, we are putting a plan in place that will allow us to bring you all elements of worship - with a few exceptions - via the Internet and the mail. Our goal is to remind us all that God’s family extends beyond the four walls of the church - and that nothing can cease our praise.
Know that each and every one of you are in our prayers daily. We must join together, in any way possible, during this challenging time. Until we can be together again, know that we love you, we are praying for you, and we miss you.
As our community continues to struggle with the limitations and restrictions caused by the coronavirus, or COVID-19, Rosemary Baptist wants to help.
We believe in serving our brothers and sisters in need. If you, or someone you know, cannot get out to get groceries or take care of basic needs due to health concerns, we are here for you. The Rosemary Errand Ministry team members will help ensure that everyone has what they need - to the best of their ability.
In the Gospel of John, Christ told all of His followers: “My command is this: Love one another as I have loved you” (John 15:12). At Rosemary Baptist, we believe in living out this command. If we can help, please reach out.
We are all in this together, and we will all come through this together. The love of this church family is not diminshed in times of hardship - it is strengthened.
If you would like to use our Rosemary Errand Ministry team, please contact the church office at 252-537-8034. We will get you in touch with a team member and make certain you are cared for.

Our pastor, Rev. Dr. Layne Wallace, shares a message from the leadership of Rosemary Baptist about our current response to the COVID-19 situation.
During this time of crisis, the church leadership wants you to know how we will proceed in the coming days.
1) Because we are unable to gather for worship we will have a weekly broadcast. It will be available on Facebook Live and on our website. More details will be available soon.
2)You are encouraged to support Rosemary with your giving during this crisis. You may give either by mail or electronically. Instructions on how to give electronically will soon follow.
3) Our leadership will continue to monitor the situation and meet via conference call to assess the situation later in the week.
4) Our office is open and the staff members are working on our normal schedules.
5) While we are unable to visit in hospitals or nursing homes and we are unable to visit with our shut-ins, we encourage our members to reach out via calls and cards to those who need the care of the community of faith.
6) I will remember each of you in prayer. I will also post daily prayers and my sermon manuscripts on Facebook and on my website. I will also continue to post articles of spiritual importance during the crisis.
7) This time may be difficult, but we are going to get through this. We are going to be okay.
May God's grace be with you all.
Dear Rosemary family,
This morning, the deacons of the church had a conference call to discuss plans for the church moving forward. By the end of the call, we had a detailed plan and were preparing to share it with everyone. Unfortunately, within minutes, the situation changed.
As of noon today (March 13), the Halifax County Health Department director has recommended that all church services be canceled. Sadly, with this recommendation, we must heed the warning and err on the side of caution. Services for this Sunday, March 15, are canceled at Rosemary Baptist Church.
Moving forward, the deacons will meet weekly to reassess the situation and determine when we can return to worshiping together. However, in the meantime, all events OTHER THAN worship are canceled for at least the next two weeks. This includes the following:
Wednesday night suppers and Bible study
RBC Kids on Wednesday nights
RBC Youth on Sunday nights
Lenten Luncheon series
Again, we are remaining prayerful that this is a short-term situation. We will continuously monitor the information and make decisions based on what is best for our brothers and sisters in Christ.
You are all in my prayers as we face these challenges together. We are united in this effort, and we will get through this with the grace of God.
Be well and may the peace of Christ be with you,
